In owners' own words
There is a defect in the brakes for the 1999 Jeep. A very large percentage of the Jeep problems on your web site relate to this speciifc problem. The dealer and manufacturer are ignoring my complaints. Every 10,000 miles or so the Jeep will wobble severely when brakes are applied because of premature warping of brakes/rotors/drums and discs. The descriptions of others on your web site are identical to this. Service brakes, hydraulic
Front brake rotors failed at 11875 miles, 18264 miles, 30815 miles, 38037 miles, 42688 miles and the 6th time at 47312 miles. Early failure begins with slight pulsation feel when brakes are applied and gets progressively worse as milage increases and more brake applications occure. Steering is affected if not attended to immediately. If the rotor heats so high it could possible break causing severe problems. Service brakes, hydraulic
Dealer replaced at 11,000 miles the front rotors and pads. At 16,000 miles, the front rotors and pads were replaced. At 35,000 miles the rotors were resurfaced and the pads were replaced. At 45, 000 miles the dealership indicated they needed to replace the calipers, and install a bigger caliper. *Ak the warping front rotors caused pulsating brake pedal and an uncontrollable steering wheel. *Sc Service brakes, hydraulic · reported at 11,000 miles
