Received recall notice and took vehicle to dealer and they said that they can not fix vehicle unless they fix other part of the brake problem. Therefore, the dealer would request owner to pay for the work before they fix the recall notice. Dealer state dthat the only way to fix recall is to fix other codes of the brake first. On 8-23-97 recall repair (96v26000) was done. However, after recall repairs were done the anti-lock brake light stayed on and the gear shift would move from park to another gear without applying the brakes. Replacements were done to the actuator / actuator clamp was worn & the accumulator to correct problem. Problems still exist which did not occur until after recall repair. Service brakes, hydraulic
Upon coming to a complete stop vehicle had no brakes, and steam came from under the hood. Vehicle coasted to a stop, and towed to a dealership, who indicated that brake pressure hose developed a small hole and brake fluid leaked out. The pressure plastic fitting broke off. Also.
