RAM problems by model
Owners have filed 27,011 complaints with NHTSA about the 4 RAM models with enough data to profile here, covering 36 model years from 2013 through 2025. The 1500 draws the most at 16,367, 60.6% of the make's total.
Complaint volume tracks how many cars a make sold as much as how they held up, and NHTSA complaints are unverified owner reports rather than confirmed defects. Nothing on this page compares RAM against another manufacturer. Use it to find the model, then the model year, then read what owners of that year actually filed.

| 2500 | 11 2013–2025 | 7,237 | 2018 3,775 | Service brakes (48.1%) |
| 3500 | 9 2013–2022 | 3,026 | 2018 1,149 | Service brakes (43.3%) |

Model years shown are those with at least 100 complaints on file, the gate every page on this site has to clear.
Reading the numbers
Across every RAM model year on the site, service brakes are the system named most often: 4,009 complaints, 19.7% of those filed under a named system. Individual model years diverge from that sharply, which is the reason to read the year rather than the badge.
The three most-reported RAM models (1500, 2500 and 3500) account for 98.6% of the make's complaint volume. That is a concentrated picture: most of what gets reported about RAM here comes from three nameplates. Bear in mind that a nameplate selling in the millions will out-file a niche one whatever its record.
Of the 27,011 complaints, 1,193 describe a crash, 465 describe a fire and 27 report a death.
