In owners' own words

When putting vehicle in gear transmission makes a loud clunk when shifted from Park to Drive. Vehicle also makes loud banging noise when shifting, followed by a harsh jerk. When coming to slow stops does the same thing. Vehicle has 40,000 miles. It has been going on from the day I bought it. Was told this is normal which does not seem right. I have owned another 2018 F150 with 6 speed transmission and had no issues. Power train
Experience HARSH Engagement with transmission both upshift and downshift. Some downshifts at so HARSH, feels like rear wheels are trying to “lock up”. Ford dealer performed recall which did not correct the issues. Ford dealer recommended full transmission replacement. Seems this is a known issue and Ford has admitted fault by issuing a recall in an effort to “fix” the problems with the 10 speed transmission. Power train
On the highway while trying to pass traffic, my transmission made a loud slamming sound that hit hard. The traction control light came on, the engine reved high and the transmission could not find a gear. I put hazards on and the transmission finally found a gear. I got it off the highway as quick as possible. Transmission fluid was leaking. I had the truck towed to the dealership. There was traffic all around me. Power train
