In owners' own words

While driving 80 mph using cruise control on flat straight freeway, vehicle randomly would downshift from 10th gear into much lower gears, causing rapid deceleration. This happened multiple times, after transmission issues were reported to dealer and dealer "could not find any issues." Dealer eventually said new transmission was needed, replaced it, and then 30k miles later similar transmission issues are happening. Power train
Merging on interstate in heavy traffic when transmission would not shift out of 1st gear, traffic was heavy and I had several really close calls of getting run over. The dealership service manager (Supreme Ford Slidell,La.)said the transmission control module is bad. Repair cost will be $1,858.00 and no recalls on my vehicle. I’ve had Ford trucks all my adult life and I’m severely disappointed with this issue Power train
I stopped on level ground, put the transmission in park and stepped on the emergency brake. I exited the vehicle for a minute to perform a minor task. I left drivers side door open and the engine running. The end gate was down. I turned around to renter the truck but it had moved off the level ground and was going down the hill in reverse. It continued until it hit a pine tree. No one was in the vehicle. Power train · reported at 14,000 miles
