In owners' own words

Gm refuses to correct abs problem. My 2000 chevy silverado is experiencing a low speed abs brake activation which causes an extended braking distance. This vehicle was served by the dealer in 2005 for the recall (nhtsa action number pe05020). The problem has now started again and gm refuses to take any action since they say the recall was performed already and that the vehicle is out of warranty at 83000 miles. My wife complained the brakes felt like they had air in the lines and stopping was difficult. When I went to bleed them I found that the front steel line was completely rotted and had a pinhole sized failure. I had a mechanic replace the lines and he was surprised at the level of corrosion all over the underside of this vehicle. The outer body is in perfect condition giving a false impression of being in good shape. Service brakes, hydraulic · reported at 80,000 miles
Was coming to a stop at a low speed, the abs kept activating and prevented me from stopping my vehicle. What stopped me was the truck that I hit, causing damage to my truck but no damage to the delivery truck. At that time I opened the hood on my truck and disconnected the front wheel sensor rendering my abs inop. That's the way my abs will remain till chevy admits the system has flaws and there is a recall. Service brakes, hydraulic · reported at 72,500 miles
