Reading the numbers
Across the 12 model years of the KIA Forte in this data, 2023 draws comparatively few complaints; 2014 is the outlier year.
Filings are rising, 77 in the last three years against 32 in the three before. For a vehicle this age that usually points to a wear-related failure owners are hitting now.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 27,500 miles.
In owners' own words
Clunking when going over bumps especially when turning into a driveway. Started at about 20,000 miles along with excessive clicking when turning the steering wheel. Steering
Iâm an owner of a brand new a 2023 Kia for less than one year. While driving home from work which is 8 miles drive on a Friday, while sitting at a red light I heard a crack or pop to see that my windshield had spontaneously cracked on the driver side. When I got home, I measured it to be 8 inches, starting at the frame. Itâll probably need replacing as opposed to repair. It is and always has been garage kept. Visibility/wiper
Backing out of a driveway that had a mud hole. Car got turned and stuck in the mud. We were trying to push it out and then it started smoking under the drivers tires and then we heard a pop. Next thing the undercarriage is on fire and we got away. Withing minutes the whole car was engulfed in flames.
