In owners' own words
When starting the car, especially after it sitting for a while, it will make a ratcheting sound after starting. I called the dealer where purchased from and was told it was a vtc actuator problem that there is no fix for. Was told they are working on it and would have a fix in february. Looked up this problem online and saw this has been a problem with Honda's since 2008 along with numerous videos of the same sound. Engine · reported at 10,000 miles
The a/c compressor pulley bearing seal is broken/busted and is grinding causing a burning smell. The idler pulley bearing seal is broken/busted and is squealing. All the routine maintenance is up to date. This automobile is only 3 years old and already having problems with the basic engine components. Is this a rare case for this make and model or is it that Honda is no longer considered to be a reliable automobile? Engine · reported at 99,000 miles
During cold winter months in michigan, there is a grinding noise for about 2 seconds when first starting the vehicle. Took it to Honda dealer and they contacted american Honda who told them that this was a "normal problem" with cr-vs apparently due to the oil pump not functioning properly. American Honda was contacted and was told that they are aware of this problem but have not indicated any solution. Engine · reported at 6,000 miles
