Reading the numbers
Across the 16 model years of the Ford Edge in this data, 2012 sits 4th by complaint volume. 2013 draws the most.
Filings have fallen off, 59 in the last three years against 122 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 50,750 miles.
In owners' own words
Door ajar light for driver's door keeps going on and we are unable to lock the doors (and the door is latched). It is a distraction to have the warning light go on indicating you should put the vehicle in park. When minor children are passengers this is a safety concern because the doors cannot be locked. There should be a recall on this since a large volume of complaints on this issue are being filed. Electrical system · reported at 35,600 miles

Started seeing the warning info., That the driver door was 'ajar,' even though it was closed. This was intermitent, now happens all the time. Reported this to the dealer, but of course, we are outside the 36k warranty. Dealer wants to charge $450 to replace and appears this is an issue with a lot of their vehicles, so perhaps this should be a recall or they should extend the coverage and repair at n/c.
