"Takata recall" there has been active recall for well over a year now on my truck and the dealer keeps telling me when they get the parts to fix it they will contact me to bring it in. How long does it take or how many more lives have to be affected before this will be fixed. I am scared to drive my truck always worried about these air bags. Takata recall we have only recently purchased this vehicle,and noticed the air bag light was on. So by looking at the nhtsa website,the info was there that stated there was a recall,but the replacement parts weren't available,as a new owner of this vehicle,how can I be assured to know that I will be contacted when the parts are available??Also what can I do to keep my family safe until the repair is complete?? The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving 45 mph, the contact crashed into a tree. The seat belt failed to retract without warning and the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
