The blower motor resistor in numerous general motors vehicles has been known to short out and potentially cause fires. This has been made more visible by a recall in canada by transport canada (transport canada recall # 2011074). I have had to replace the blower motor resistor in my vehicle and the replacement is already starting to malfunction. If this is recalled in canada it should be recalled in the u.S. My 2004 silverado tachometer and fuel gage are totally erratic or not working beginning around 73,000 miles. I just have to guess what fuel I have in the tank and fill up frequently. Had a flat and could not remove spare, removed entire hoist system and found the secondary latching system totally froze up, so just threw the tire in the bed of the truck. Cost a tow to get home with a load of christmas gifts. Electrical system
The speedometer doesn't work properly. I can be at a red light at complete stop & it states I am doing 60, when I accelerate it goes to 100, when I know I am only doing 10-15 mph. I am 70 years old on a fixed income. I never received anything about a recall and I now have around 102,000 miles on my truck. I can not afford to replace a defective part for $500- $600. Gm should have to replace these at full cost! Electrical system · reported at 99,899 miles
