I purchased a new 2002 Dodge caravan on 4/17/02. On 5/27/02 the van was in the dealership with the airbag light on (this was the second time it was in the shop for this same problem - previously in on 4/25/02). According to the dealer, the seat belt tensioner circuit was opened, wires traced back from acm to tensioner, no crimps found, module needed to be replaced. : The contact stated the air bag warning light stays illuminated. The light occasionally goes off, but when the contact hits a bump in the road, the light illuminates again. The dealership determined the clock spring was bad. There is an nhtsa recall, # 04v480000, regarding the air bags. The vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the vin. Air bags · reported at 68,000 miles
Dt: contact stated the air bag light illuminated intermittently. The dealer replaced the clock spring assembly. This appeared to have fixed the problem. There was nhtsa recall 02v293000 for this make and model, but not for the model year. *Ak updated 11/16/2005 - the headlamps cut off while the vehicle was being driven. The fcm was replaced but now the problem is more consistent with flickering. Air bags · reported at 64,000 miles
