In owners' own words

There was a recall on head gaskets - Ford failed to notify us by mail nor did they notify us when we took it in for routine services. Now they won't fix it because it's past 60,000 miles. I took it to another mechanic, who fixed the problem at a cost of over $800.00. The other mechanic is how I found out about the recall - Ford shared that information with him - however, they failed to let us in on the secret. Engine and engine cooling
While traveling on highway, vehicle started slowing down. Consumer was able to pull over to shoulder and oil or antifreeze was leaking from underneath the vehicle. *Ak the vehicle has been in for repair three times for a failed gasket. The engine won't heat up properly due to the thermostat being stuck in the open position. New oxygen sensors had to be installed due to being contaminated from the coolant. Engine and engine cooling
The transmission was failing to shift and would hesitate. We also heard a clunking noise. Fearing that the transmission's hesitation could cause us to be in an accident, we took the Windstar into the dealer's service department. The service department said that the noise was coming from the engine and that both the transmission and the engine would need to be rebuilt or replaced at an estimated cost of $4000 -$5000.
